Google BigQuery - CData Driver

Setup Guide

Follow these steps to connect Google BigQuery to your CData Virtuality account:

1. In the Web UI, open the Sources page:
   

   

2. Type Google BigQuery into the search field, then click the second data source button (the one on the right:
   

   

3. On the Basic Settings tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.

4. In the Project Id field, enter the project Id that you want to use to resolve unqualified tables.

5. Select the Authentication method, then proceed to the relevant section and follow those instructions.

Authentication Methods

Oauth

1. Click Sign in with Google to connect securely through OAuth. This action opens the Google BigQuery sign-in page on a new tab.

2. Log into your Google BigQuery account.

3. In Google BigQuery, add the CData Connect static IP addresses to your connection whitelist.

4. At the top of the CData Connect Add Google BigQuery Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a message indicates that your connection has been created.

   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Then, try again.

Oauth JWT

1. Enter the OAuth JWT Cert provided by Google. This is a multi-line key.

2. (Optional) Enter the OAuth JWT Subject if your services account is part of a GSuite domain and you want to enable delegation.

3. In Google BigQuery, add the CData Connect static IP addresses to your connection whitelist.

4. At the top of the CData Connect Add Google BigQuery Connection page, click Save & Test.

   • If the connection test succeeds, a message indicates that your connection has been created.

   • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Then, try again.
