Authentication, Access Control, and Security

You are looking at an older version of the documentation. The latest version is found here.

The Data Virtuality Server supports two types of authentication: the default dvconfig-based authentication and LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) authentication, so, if you are using LDAP authentication for your other tools, you can use it for your Data Virtuality instance as well. In addition, regardless of the type of authentication enabled, user access can be further fine-tuned using data roles and permissions.

In this section, we describe how to enable LDAP authentication for the Data Virtuality Server and how to manage user access.
