Connecting Tableau to Data Virtuality Server with the Data Virtuality LDW Connector for Tableau

Connector Setup

Step 1

Download the Data Virtuality JDBC driver from the driver download page. Use the JDBC driver version matching your Data Virtuality Server version.

Copy the driver jar to the required location according to your operating system:

  • Tableau Desktop Windows: 

    CODE
    C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers
  • Tableau Desktop macOS: 

    CODE
    /Users/<YourUser>/Library/Tableau/Drivers
  • Tableau Server Windows: 

    CODE
    C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers
  • Tableau Server Linux: 

    CODE
    /opt/tableau/tableau_driver/jdbc

Step 2

Download the Data Virtuality LDW Connector for Tableau from Tableau Extension Gallery.

Copy the file to

  • Tableau Desktop Windows: 

    CODE
    C:\Users\<YourUser>\Documents\My Tableau Repository\Connectors
  • Tableau Desktop macOS:

    CODE
    /Users/<YourUser>/Documents/My Tableau Repository/Connectors
  • Tableau Server Windows:

    CODE
    C:\ProgramData\Tableau\data\tabsvc\vizqlserver\Connectors
  • Tableau Server Linux:

    CODE
    [Your Tableau Server Install Directory]/data/tabsvc/vizqlserver/Connectors

Step 3

Restart Tableau.

Connector Usage

Connect to your Data Virtuality Server using the newly added connection type "Logical Data Warehouse by Data Virtuality":
