Data Virtuality Web
You are looking at an older version of the documentation. The latest version is found here.
The Data Virtuality Server is equipped with a web-based interface that supports performing various actions comparable to the Data Virtuality Studio. The user is presented with the list of data sources they have access to, a functions reference, and a variety of code samples.
The Web UI comprises two major components: the Web Business Data Shop and the Web Editor.
Web Business Data Shop
The Web Business Data Shop is a data catalogue aimed to ease access to certain data items (tables and views). Data items can be published to the Web Business Data Shop via dedicated procedures and/or the Data Virtuality Studio interface. Data Items are only visible to users who have permission to view those items. System objects (tables and views belonging to system schemas) can not be published to Web Business Data Shop.
Data items can be supplied with additional attributes, some of which can be displayed in the Web Business Data Shop (e.g., the 'owner').
The results of running queries behind data items can be exported in several formats. Export formats are configurable via dedicated procedures.
Queries that lie behind data items can be modified in the Web Editor when necessary.
Please, see the Reference Guide for more details on Web Business Data Shop-related procedures.
Web Editor
The Web Editor is a web-based tool for running queries and viewing query history. Unlike the Data Virtuality Studio, it does not expose the system objects (tables views and procedures) but enables the user to access the permitted data sources.
The editor supports the same syntax as the Data Virtuality Studio.
The editor can be accessed via the 'More' link of the Web UI navigation panel or by clicking a link icon in the Web Business Data Shop data item. In the latter case, the editor would be pre-populated with the query behind the data item.
