Talk To Your Data is CData Virtuality’s AI-powered assistant that allows users to explore and query data using natural language.

Key Capabilities

• Ask data-related questions in plain English and other languages.

• Retrieve data summaries, tables, and charts.

• Explore metadata and live data from connected sources.

• Collaborate with data stewards via a built-in review workflow.

How to Use

Access the Assistant

Open your web browser and go to http://<your-host>:8080/talktodata.

Ask a Question

Enter your question in plain English (or other language), for example:

• "Show total sales by country in 2023"

• "Give me a pie chart of orders by status"

• "Line chart of revenue over the last 6 months"

Review the Response

The assistant may return:

• A summary of findings

• A data table

• A visualization:

  • A pie chart for categorical distributions (e.g., "sales by category")

  • A line chart for time-based trends (e.g., "monthly revenue")

Refine or Continue the Conversation

Ask follow-up questions to filter, group, or compare data. For example:

• "Break this down by product category"

• "Compare 2022 and 2023"

Collaboration and Review

If you user needs support or clarification, you can click the Send for Review link to forward the conversation to a data steward. The analyst can then refine the results and return the updated response. This enables smooth collaboration between business users and technical teams.

Access and Security

The assistant uses metadata and real-time queries from configured sources. Results are limited to what the logged-in user is authorized to access, and all queries run with the user's permissions.
