Setting Up and Connecting Sample Data

CData Virtuality provides sample data stored across two different data sources, MySQL and PostgreSQL. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to connect to the databases and access the sample data. 

  • In SaaS, open the CData Virtuality Web UI.

  • In the on-premise version, start the web browser, go to http://localhost:8080/, and open WEB INTERFACE in the WELCOME screen.

Next, do the following:

  1. In the CData Virtuality Web UI, navigate to the Connections tab, then select Sources. Click on +Connect Sample Data under the Use Sample Data section:

  2. The Code Editor will open, and the connection settings for MySQL and PostgreSQL will be applied. Once the configuration is complete, a message stating Sample data is connected! will appear:

  1. Click the Start button. If the two data sources, mysql and postgres, appear under the Data Sources category in the Browser on the left-hand side, the connection to the database is complete and the sample data can be used:

  1. To verify the connection to the sample database, check the Sources tab under Connections:
