Installation
The CData Virtuality software can be installed on many operating systems, including numerous Linux distributions and different versions of macOS and Windows.
This section includes three subsections for the different operating systems.
Pre-requisites
The system must meet certain requirements for the CData Virtuality Server and Studio to be successfully deployed.
CData Virtuality Server Requirements
Minimum Hardware Requirements for Productive Usage
- CPU: 4 Cores
- RAM: 16 GB RAM
- Hard drive: 500 GB SATA-3 SSD
Please be aware that these hardware requirements concern only the CData Virtuality service. You will need additional resources for the underlying operating system and other software that might run on the same server.
Please also note that a working installation of a database management system is required to host the analytical storage (see our website for a complete list of DBMS we support). If the analytical storage runs on the same machine as the CData Virtuality Server, we strongly recommend carefully considering and planning resources.
Recommended Hardware Requirements
Our support engineers will be happy to help you identify the specific requirements for your use cases - do not hesitate to get in touch with them for more information!
CData Virtuality Studio Requirements
Minimum Hardware Requirements
Please note that these requirements are sufficient only for test scenarios:
- 2-Core CPU
- 4GB DDR3-RAM (at least 1600MHz)
- 100 MB hard drive space
Recommended Hardware Requirements
- 4-Core CPU
- 8GB DDR3-RAM (at least 1600MHz)
