Performance Optimization Guide

In this guide, we want to provide you with the best practices for achieving high performance with the Data Virtuality Platform. We will concentrate on optimizing the performance of the data virtualization component. Of course, one of the most important ways to optimize performance is to materialize or cache the underlying data. However, these optimizations are outside the scope of this document as of now.

To maximize performance, different aspects of the system need to be considered. The following aspects affect performance:

  • Data Virtuality Server system specification: the amount of RAM, number and type of CPUs, SSD speed;
  • Materialization and in-memory caching;
  • Performance optimization of queries/views;
  • Data source settings;
  • Query plans.

We will dive into these topics in the course of this guide.
